Our methodology

The ITS Method™

Schools do not buy sessions from ITS Education. They invest in a system — a complete, ten-stage framework from referral to aftercare.

01–03
Referral and Assessment
Formal referral with SLT. Assessment of needs. Individual Programme Plan signed. Parents consulted before the programme begins.
04–05
Mentoring and Monitoring
Consistent 1:1 and group sessions. Leadership curriculum. Weekly behaviour data. Monthly written reports to SLT.
06–07
Intervention and Development
Rapid response to emerging challenges. Accredited qualification delivered. Life skills taught and evidenced.
08–09
Transition and Aftercare
Next steps planned. Structured aftercare post-programme. Minimum three contacts per half term. Support does not stop.
10
Celebrating Achievements
Certification ceremony. Family celebration event. Students leave with evidence of what they are capable of.

The ITS Standard™

Our non-negotiable quality guarantee — every practitioner, every school
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — verified
  • Minimum 2 years secondary school teaching
  • Middle leadership or SLT experience available through the Platinum package, on request
  • Enhanced DBS — registered with each school
  • Annual safeguarding and Prevent training
  • First Aid at Work — three-day qualification
  • Full public liability and professional indemnity insurance

This model requires a headteacher brave enough to front-load the intervention — to invest at the start, rather than pay a far greater cost at the end when it’s too late.

About us

Built by school leaders.
For school leaders.

ITS Education was founded on one belief: the most vulnerable students deserve the most experienced professionals. Not coaches. Qualified teachers with secondary school leadership experience.

Paul Allen
Managing Director & Founder

Paul spent almost a quarter of a century inside secondary schools. Nine years as Head of PE. Three years as Assistant Headteacher. He founded ITS Education to deliver what schools could not: expert-led, evidence-based provision that actually changes behaviour and keeps students in school.

  • 22 years secondary school teaching
  • 9 years Head of PE and Faculty Leader
  • 3 years Assistant Headteacher
  • UEFA B Licence Coach
  • National Teaching Award Winner 2025 — Making a Difference
Lewis Whitaker
Lead Practitioner

Lewis was Paul’s student in 2006. Eighteen years later he is ITS Education’s Lead Practitioner at Meadowhead School — an outstanding practitioner whose ability to engage students and build genuine relationships sets him apart. A talented sportsman across a number of disciplines, Lewis was an exceptional PE teacher before bringing that same energy into intervention work, and brings the calm consistency that defines the ITS Method™ to every session. Alongside ITS Education, he is a successful business owner — running his own Supply Teaching agency, and a co-owner of a padel centre.

“Your professionalism is exceptional, and the way you engage with students is highly commendable. The quality of your parental communication and your ability to build strong, positive relationships is the best I have seen within alternative provision settings.”

What is alternative provision?

Alternative provision is structured, expert-led education for students at risk of exclusion or on a reduced timetable. ITS Education delivers this in-school, keeping students learning on their own school site rather than being placed externally — at a fraction of the cost of an external placement.

Which areas does ITS Education cover?

ITS Education is based in Sheffield and currently delivers in-school provision and sports leadership programmes across South Yorkshire, with capacity to work with schools and trusts across the wider Midlands region. Get in touch to discuss coverage for your school.

What is the Football Scholarship Programme (FCP16)?

FCP16 is ITS Education's post-16 football pathway — a fully resourced programme combining FA-registered coaching, accredited Sports Leadership qualifications, kit and facilities, and guest coaching sessions with professional and ex-professional players. It currently runs in partnership with Meadowhead School and is available as a complete package to other schools and trusts.

Do you work with individual schools or whole trusts?

Both. ITS Education delivers single-school contracts as well as trust-level contracts, providing consistent, high-quality provision across multiple schools within a trust, with centralised reporting, quality assurance, and preferential rates for cluster contracts.
